57th UN commission on the status of women
The Australian federation of medical women, the Victorian medical Society and MWIA held a workshop entitled “Women Doctors and the role of the Health Care System in Response to Violence Against Women ” on March 11th. The Flyer can be seen here.
Four final year medical students (see photo) from Australia had presentations on the following topics together with Prof. Gabrielle Casper and Dr. Raie Goodwatch:

MWIA general secretary Shelley Ross, as NGO representative on the Canadian delegation, was able to arange for MWIA a workshop entitled “Women Doctors and the Health System in the Elimination and Prevention of all Forms of Violence Against Women and Girls” inside the UN building on March 7th.
A parallel MWIA event “Women Doctors and the Health System in the Elimination and Prevention of all Forms of Violence Against Women and Girls” with the Co–Sponsors – American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), National Council of Women USA (NCW) and UNA-USA Southern NY State Division – was held on March 5th 2013.The presentations of the workshops can be found here, as well as a press release >>
The UN Commission on the Status of Women agreed on several important conclusions on the Elimination and Prevention of all forms of Violence Against Women and Girls. that were welcomed bei UN Women.
