The concept for the project arose from our association’s 2013-2016 triennial theme “Prevention and Elimination of Domestic and Sexual Violence”, chosen by MWIA President Prof. Kyung Ah Park (Korea).
The purpose of this resource is to offer a global lens of learning materials generated by members of our association from all regions of the world. Gender-based violence is a challenging issue for clinicians to address. The barriers are vast: ethnic, cultural, economic, and political factors are all at play.
Our goal for this resource is to provide a platform for awareness and discussion. Please review the learning objectives and cases which have been organized by themes and by regions.
Feel free to use these in your own practice setting and as a resource in educating our future healthcare workers. This online source is a living document and will be continuously updated and amended. You are very welcome to send us new cases at secretariat(ad)mwia.net. The template for a teaching case can a be downloaded here
