NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (NEC) MEETINGS: MWAN held its 5th NEC meeting on 5th June, 2021 and Extraordinary NEC meeting on 3rd July, 2021 via zoom. Both were well attended by 67 participants from member States.

MWIA ACTIVITIES: Dr. C. Abam is MWAN’s nominee for MWIA Near East and Africa Regional Vice President 2022-2025 Triennium. Her candidacy has been submitted through the National President to the MWIA Secretary General and the MWIA NEAR RVP has equally been informed.

MALE CHAMPION DECORATION: On 10th June, 2021 the 12th Male Champion, Dr. I. A. Okowa (Delta State Governor) was decorated during the association’s courtesy call.

Rev. M. Osaymwanbo of CGM Asaba zone I was decorated as the 13th Male Champion on 30th July, 2021.

ADOPTED HEALTH FACILITIES: the 15 adopted facilities in 13 (Akwa-Ibom, Delta, Benue, Cross River, Edo, Imo, Kaduna, Kwara, Lagos, Niger, Oyo, Rivers, Sokoto, Zamfara) States were supported by the National Secretariat to commemorate World Population Day with Family planning and Neonatal tetanus fliers, banners, videos, letters of introduction to places of worship, schools and their various health facilities and an address by the National President. The program involved health education at 10 schools, 14 health facilities (including the Adopted facilities) and 10 places of worship between 12th and 29th July, 2021, due to religious restrictions no mosque was visited.

At least 3,373 individuals were sensitized; at least 1,224 fliers were shared.

3-DAY TRAINING ON THERMOALBATION TREATMENT of Pre-malignant cervical lesions using Thermo-Ablation – 27th to 29th July, 2020. It was attended by over 400 participants. The practical sessions have taken place in 3 of six geopolitical zones of Nigeria allowing training for one member per State.
