The 67th Annual Meeting was held online on May 15, 2022

Due to the unresolved COVID-19 pandemic, the 67th Annual Meeting was held online on May 15, 2022 (Fig. 1). This was the year of the biennial election of officers, and the President and Vice President were elected by a mutual vote of the approved officers. Yoshiko Maeda was elected as president, and Masami Aoki and Hiroko Fujitani were elected vice presidents.

An online public lecture was held after the general meeting. The speaker was Atsushi Kato, President of the Japan Toilet Research Institute, and the title of his lecture was “More about Toilets in Disasters.” In disaster-prone Japan, the issue of toilets in times of disaster is an important one to always consider, and he taught the necessary preparations to be made on a regular basis. He also talked about how poor toilet management can lead to infectious diseases, economy class syndrome, and other disaster-related illnesses.
