Report June 2024

Dr Mandakini Megh was invited by Dr Minnie Oseji, Chair of MWIA VAWG SIG to conduct Global Training across MWIA countries to Eliminate VAWG.

On 9.4.2024 an Award Ceremony was held at national President Dr Mandakini Megh’s Hospital Seminar Hall.

In a short span of time l50 women doctors have become AMWI members from all across India. AMWI has created new chapters in a programme called “AMWI Connect”. The Motto is to REVITALISE_REJUVENATE_REFORM the Organisation by extending AMWI services from the grass roots level to district hospitals all over India.

9 Chapters have already been formed namely, Gwalior (MP), Gurgaon (Haryana), Ujjain (MP). Jaipur, Alwar (Rajasthan), Nashik, Kolhapur, Solapur, Paratwada (Maharashtra). And all the chapters are doing tremendous work.

The AMWI National Conference will be held on 3rd-4th August 2024 at Mumbai.

Nagpur Branch

* 5/5/24 – Installation of the new team of AMWN for the year 2024-27. Dr. Anjalee Chivhane and Dr. Gira Soni were installed as President and Secretary respectively. CME talk on oral  Semaglutide in Diabetes and Obesity

* 2/6/24- CME talk on Hypothyroidism in Pregnancy. Lecture on USMLE Journey : Scratch To Match by Dr. Anushri Soni PGY 1 at Jacobi Medical Centre, New York

* 30/5/24- A weeklong Ecothon activity to increase awareness about environment

* 16/6/24-Ambazari Lake Cleaning Drive organised by Nagpur Municipal Corporation

Mumbai Branch

* 06/04/2024 -Rashmi Ramkrishna Pethe Oration delivered by Hon. Secretary AMWI Dr. Suvarna Khadilkar

* 09/04/2024 – AMWI (Mumbai Branch) was declared the Best Branch. The prestigious Award was given by patron Member Dr. Usha Saraiya and National President Dr. Mandakini Megh

* 03/05/2024- BMD Camp conducted in association with MMS at Ruxmani Hospital 

West Bengal Branch

* A health check camp was held on 6th April 24 at AMWI Mission Hospital on the occasion of Doctors’ Day celebration. The doctors who attended were Dr.Mary D’Cruz, Dr. Nurpur Chakravarthy and Dr. Chitra Chakraborty

Activities done by Chapters in APRIL,MAY, JUNE 2024

AMWI Ujjain chapter

* Conducted camp in rural area of Ujjain district for Anemia in Pregnancy.  We detected 205 women with Anemia out of 320 tested.

* DIPSI Test was carried out on 380 ANC women and 56 reported to be positive.

AMWI Gwalior Chapter

* World Health Day Celebrations

* AMWI CME in Morena, with Speaker Dr Preeti Gupta

* An Awareness lecture given by Dr Veena Pradhan in Anganwadi. S.Kampoo spoke on Antenatal care and the importance of Breast feeding and its benefits

* An Awareness lecture In Bhartiyam School by Dr Rita Mishra

* Held a CME on Recent advances in PCOS. Dr Shashibala Bhonsale was Moderator for the panel and Dr Preeti Gupta was Speaker.

* Celebrated International Yoga Day at Bal Bhavan with Bhartiya Yog Sansthan

AMWI Paratwada Chapter ​

* Inauguration of AMWI Paratwada Chapter on 2nd January 2024

* On Gudi padwa utsav celebration information was given on health, cervical and breast cancer symptoms, prevention and HPV vaccination

* On safe motherhood day examination of ANC  and information about ANC given at PHC Dhamangaon Gadi

* Diagnostic health checkup camp at the village, Kavitha with blood investigation and medicine distribution. 450 people benefited.

* Participant at 1800 DAYS TREE PLANTATION , at Latur

* On the occasion of international nurses’ day felicitation of hospital nursing staff was done

* On the occasion of international menstrual hygiene day the importance of menstrual hygiene was stressed and information about different types of menstrual devices was given at the Women’s Hospital Achalpur

* Menstrual hygiene awareness and ‘no to tobacco’ campaign undertaken at the village Palashkhedi  Bahiram road . 100 girls benefited.

* BLOOD   donation camp on occasion of Mahesh Navami . 40 bottles were collected

* Health checkup in slum area, and medicines distributed. 25 women benefited.

AMWI Nashik Chapter

Conducted a special International session on the occasion of International women’s day. Dr. Eleanor Nwadinobi, MWIA President congratulated the organisers for this joint venture and also spoke on the theme of One humanity. Dr.Manjiri Khare, Consultant Fetal Medicine in Leicester UK spoke on Still Birth Prevention -Progress and Potential.

AMWI Kolhapur Chapter

* 40 females screened for cervical and breast cancer. LBC and VIA were used for cervical cancer screening. Clinical exam was done to screen for breast cancer

AMWI Solapur Chapter

Inauguration on March’24. School health activities, Anaemia guidance, Sanitary pad vending machine donation, Menstrual hygiene lecture, Donation of chairs and tables to kanyaprashala, Infertility awareness camp, donation of computer tablets to blind school

* Celebrated Mother’s Day with a webinar on ‘ Swasth Nari Hi Sampurna Nari’ !

* Organized  a webinar on comprehensive management of iron deficiency anemia

– a gynecologist perspective with guidelines and insights

* Menopause program with Inner Wheel Club Alwar.

Thse last three months have been very eventful, and we made lot of progress.
