MWIA wants to thank all speakers to make this first webinar such a huge success; our special thanks go to Associate Professor Magdalena Simonis, Chair of the Medical Women’s International Association Mentoring and Leadership Group, as the organiser and one of the four keynote speakers. Without her this would have not taken place!
We are also very grateful to Professor Antonella Vezzani and Dr Joyce Barber for moderating the animated Q&A at the end, to all who participated and attended, to the African Universities Association for generously providing the webinar services and last but not least goes our special thanks to other 3 presenters:
- Professor Padmini Murthy
- Professor Wendy Bernstein
- Dr Claribel Abam.
We should all be proud of the outcome as we had registrants from USA, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Italy, Sierra Leone, Turkey, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Zambia, Malawi, Germany, UK, Canada, Brazil, Uganda, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Malaysia, Vietnam, Egypt and Sudan, to name a few. The Q&A was excellent and allowed interactive participation.
It is planned to host these Mentoring & Leadership webinars quarterly; it was agreed unanimously by the attendants at the webinar to host more and include diverse speakers and voices.
Please put your hand up – no speaker experience required – diversity is needed and enriches the conversation.
For those of you who could not attend, the webinar was recorded and can be found on our youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_hW8o0Qh84&t=18s
