On 3 June Women@40 by Dr Laxmi Shrikhande. 10 June Digital screen a necessary evil by Dr Shubhada Khirwadkar. 17 June Corticosteroids in critical conditions by Dr Anjalee chiwhane. 21 June Installation ceremony was held. Dr Padmini Murthy Secretary General MWIA was the Chief guest. Dr Laxmi  Shrikhande was installed as President at the hands of Dr Mandakini Megh Vice President Central Asia MWIA. On 24 June Yoga from eyes of Doctor by Dr Varsha Sagdeo.

AMWI (MUMBAI BRANCH)

The AMWI Mumbai branch has been running the cytology clinic successfully, pap smears are being taken and patients are being evaluated, even during pandemic. CARC conference is organizing by Mumbai branch and the preparation of the conference is going on full fledged. President Mumbai branch was a special invitee at the installation ceremony of Nagpur President Dr Laxmi Shrikhande on 19th Aug and was a guest speaker on wellness of women in Nagpur workshop titled “Dil pe mat le yaar”. She released wellness wheel at the workshop.

AMWI (KOLKATA)

On 21July – 13th Dr. Tulsi Basu Memorial Oration delivered by Dr Arunima Mukhopadhyay  on “Safe Surgery “. 16 Aug Webinar on “Skeletal and Extra skeletal benefits of Calcium and Vitamin D3” organised  by Dr. Mary DCruz & also organized Health Camp on “Thyroid diseases” on 24 Aug.

Thai Medical Women’s Association (TMWA)

TMWA stands strong support the fight against COVID-19 in Thailand. The monetary support to TMWA’s members as the ‘CHAMPION’ to fight against COVID-19 from all the region of Thailand including all essential goods for those who are in hospital or quarantine area . we have to keep on working! Together we can!!

Report of the MWIA Central Asia regional meeting

It was a great pleasure and privileged to extend warm welcome you all to our very prestigious International conference CARC organized by AMWI I (Figure 1). The 9th Central Asia Regional Conference was held, with AMWI Mumbai branch, India, under the leadership of Dr Mandakini Megh, Vice President MWIA [central Asia], virtually at Mumbai on September 09 ,11 – 12, 2021.

The theme was India’s 5 E’s for achieving SDG 5” that is, Enhancing Medical skills, Eliminating NCD/Life style diseases, Empowering Women , Environment Safety & Eradication of  Domestic Violence. All esteemed National, International faculties, MWIA office bearers, Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi,President,MWIA, Dr Padmini Murthy,SG ,MWIA, Dr Bettina Pfleiderer, Past President,MWIA, Dr Helen Goodyear,Treasurer had deliberated their talk and spread their vast knowledge. Dr Lesley Regan, Dr Darunee,  Dr Mayura kusum,Dr Bev Johnson,Dr Magda,Dr Dobota international speakers,Dr CN Purandare, Dr Shantha Kumari,Dr Geetha,Dr Mandakini Megh,Dr Suvarna,& other national faculties delivered lectures & orations. The scientific program was designed with5 Orations, Committee MWIA Strategy And Advocacy session, which was  conducted  by our patron  Dr Usha Saraiya, MWIA & Committee On Communications & Social Media Session  by  chair social media Dr Mandakini Megh, YMWIA session, panel discussions & 22 sessions in different subjects. There were 2 Pre-congress workshops on “PPH” & “NCD in Pregnancy”. Inaugurated by distinguished guest Add. Municipal commissioner, Dr Arul Kumaran, &other dignitaries. Huge response to scientific free papers & posters by young PG students.

All scientific sessions were highly appreciated for its high quality contents, diverse subjects, expert excellent speakers ,lucid presentations CARC conference was inaugurated in a spectacular ceremony by MWIA President, Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi.

A colourful vibrant cultral Program was presented by  AMWI & TMWA members. Conference ended with a grand Valedictory Program with Dr Padmini Murthy as chief guest & Dr Bettina Pfleiderer as guest of honour, prizes for free papers  & posters were announced.

An excellent meeting with esteemed members from different countries around the world its like “All the stars in one place” has shared   their vast knowledge , new and exciting experiences, which are great learning for all of us. It was a splendid event, both in terms of intellectual quality and social gratification Thank you for all you did to make the conference a success! It truly was memorable. Figure 2 shares some impressions from the meeting.
