We hosted our International Women’s Day event, entitled Breaking Barriers and Leading Change: a Panel in honour of International Women’s Day, on March 8th, 2022.  Dr. Stephanie Smith, Region IV Co-Representative (Atlantic Canada), moderated a panel in honour of International Women’s Day, Breaking Barriers and Leading Change. Our inspiring panelists which included Brigadier General (Retired) Hilary Jaeger, MSc, MD., retired Surgeon General of the Canadian Armed Forces; and Dr. Shannon Ruzycki, General Internist & Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Calgary. The FMWC AGM will be held October 1st and 2nd, 2022 at the Coast Coastal Hotel in Vancouver, BC.  This year’s theme will be “Evolving with Confidence”.  Registration is scheduled to open in May.

The Voice, the official newsletter of the FMWC, has recently changed its name to the Journal of the FMWC. Along with the change in name, there will be an increased emphasis on member research.  The most recent issue of the Journal will be released soon.  You can additionally access this from our website.

Our Branches have been active, organizing webinars and encouraging their membership in their wellbeing as COVID fluctuates and continues to impact on our communities.

We also held our bicentennial Event at the Maude Abbott and the Medical Museum (Fig 1) at McGill at  March 17 -18, 2022.  It was  virtual .
