1. The 18th National Congress of Korean Medical Women’s Regional Representatives and the Monthly Academic Symposium hosted by the Korean Medical Women’s Association (KMWA) was held on August 26th at Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital. The event was made up of three parts: Part 1 – The Monthly Symposium, Part 2 – Opening Ceremony with Congratulatory Remarks by Distinguished Guests, Part 3 – The 18th National Congress of Representatives of Medical Women. This year’s event was co-hosted by the Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province branch with the theme being ‘Cultivating Leadership through Communication’. Women doctors working as CEOs of their institute, together with young women doctors and future women doctors attended and discussed the current situation of each region and strengthened their bond between each regional network.
2. On Sep. 20, 2023, an event, “Forest Healing Program with the Korean Medical Women’s Association” was held at Hongneug Arboretum. KMWA hosted the event in collaboration with the Korea Counselling Center for Fertility and Depression, the National Rehabilitation Centre, and ‘Aeranwon’, a facility for unmarried mothers. Regardless of the rain, many participated by walking among a variety of domestic and international plants and listening to various lectures concerning the arboretum. 20 mothers received psychological counselling on coping with their daily difficulties as single mothers.
