National conference of AMWI held in Mumbai on 3rd and 4th Aug 2024
It was a great pleasure and privilege to extend a warm welcome to all the dignitaries & delegates at our very prestigious AMWI National Conference “AMWI Women’s Health Summit’24”. The Summit was held together with the Mumbai Obstetrics & Gynecological Society (MOGS), under the leadership of Dr Mandakini Megh, President AMWI, with Dr Pallavi Darade and Dr Suvarna Khadikar.
The theme of the Conference was “Innovate_Inspire_Impact in Women’s Health”.

There were two Pre-congress workshops:
1] COLPOSCOPY AND CANCER PREVENTION.

Dr Nidhi Shah conducted the first workshop as convener.

It was a splendid event, both in terms of intellectual quality and social gratification Thank you for all you did to make the conference a success! It was truly memorable.
MWIA Central Asia regional conference (CARC) in Bangkok on 22-24 August 2024:-
Central Asia regional conference was attended by a group of Indian Members, under the leadership of the President of AMWI. She delivered a Key Note address on “Adolescent Reproductive & Sexual Health”. The Chair of the MWIA Special Interest Group for VAWG Dr Minnie Oseji & Global Training Director, Dr Mandakini Megh presented the ‘Global training Program on elimination of Violence Against Woman & Girls’ on 24th August. It was attended by a large number of members of the Central Asia region.
Inauguration of the training programme was done by MWIA president, Dr Eleanor.
The prestigious Dr. Jhirad Oration was conferred on Dr. Darunee, Central Asia Vice president. She was presented with the Oration trophy in a small ceremony after her speech.
A memorandum signed by MWIA president, and the presidents of AMWI, TMWA, MWAP was signed and sent to different authorities, international organizations UN and WHO and govt, against the heinous crime of Rape and Murder of a young woman Dr in Kolcutta, India on 9th Aug 2024. A candle march was taken in the CARC conference as a protest on the above incident. In India nation-wide protests are being staged against this gruesome murder of a young doctor on duty.

Nagpur Branch-
5/7/24- Tree plantation drive in the surrounding ares of Nagpur.
16 /7/24- A team of AMWN members led by the secretary Dr. Gira Soni visited the Nagpur Municipal Corporation Garden Department to protest about cutting trees for the road widening process. They discussed various environmental aspects with the authorities and the authorities agreed not to cut trees in the proposed area.
16/7/24- Dr. Rohini Patil showed cost effective breast prosthesis which she distributes free of cost to cancer survivors. They are called Knit Knockers.
16/7/24- Dr. Shobha Gandhi presented a hilarious skit for cancer awareness. Dr. Amruta Dashputra and Dr. Anjali Bhandarkar presented a beautiful programme on Independence Day of India.
11/8/24- CME on oncology. Speaker was Dr. Smita Gupte who spoke on role of immune modulators in cancer chemotherapy.
17/8/24- AMWN members were represented at IMA house and at Indira Gandhi Medical College when students protested about the heinous crime against a woman resident doctor at R. G. Kar Hospital and Medical College, Kolkata. They gave a condolence letter to her family members. All the AMWN members observed a nationwide strike in her support, seeing only emergency patients.

20/7/24 – 43rd Dr. Prof. Anjali Chatterjee Memorial Oration
7/8/24 -World Breast Feeding Day was observed at AMWI (W.B) Mission Hospital at 12 noon. A gathering of about 50 persons including patients with their husbands, our Nursing staff and office staff.
22-24/8/24 – Dr. Mary D Cruz gave a talk at the CARC conference.
25/8/24 – Old age home in Behala.
