1. Dr. CHONG King Yee, Specialist in Psychiatry, was our guest speaker on 3 Jul 2025. The topic of the talk was “I Will Survive – Update on Management of Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD)”.
2. Prof. LUK On Yan, Andrea, from Department of Medicine & Therapeutics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, was our guest speaker on 5 Aug 2025. The topic of the talk was “New Horizons in Obesity Care: The Role of GIP/GLP-1 Receptor Agonist in Weight Management”.
3. Dr. YU Cissy, Founding President of HKWDA, Specialist in Community Medicine, CEO of International Healthcare Institute Ltd, was our guest speaker on 7 Aug 2025. The topic of the talk was “Clinic License Application: Improving Quality and Safety of your Clinic”.
4. Doctors and medical students volunteered at a community service for the underprivileged in San Po Kong on 14 Sep 2025, where HKWDA members and volunteers from the community performed visual and spine health screening on 50 students and provided health education to their families.
5. Coffee Tasting & Brewing Workshop was held on 28 Sep 2025. 16 participants joined the masterclass on flavor and craft.
6. Our Youth Committee organized two events.
a. We were honored to have Dr Cissy Yu, Dr Mona Lam, Dr Rita Ng, Dr Vinci Wu and Dr Hilary Kwok to join us at the opening dinner on 18 Sep 2025. More than 20 students from both CUHK and HKU (committee members included) joined. The dinner started with our speakers giving an overview of their professional journey, followed by more in-depth discussions as speakers rotated between tables of students while dinner was served.
b. Microsurgical Skills Workshop was held on 1 Nov 2025 with more than 30 medical students attending. We hope to provide more surgical exposure to interested medical students.
7. The HKWDA Annual Scientific Meeting was successfully held on 11 Oct 2025. We were honored to have distinguished doctors, lawyers, and scholars to share the latest advancements in treatment options for various illnesses, as well as insights on the important topics of medical-legal issues and healthcare development in the Greater Bay Area. The HKWDA AGM cum Annual Dinner was held following our Annual Scientific Meeting.
8. Dr Callie KO (President HKWDA) joined the MWIA International Congress, which was held in Cairo, Egypt on 12-14 Oct 2025.
9. Dr Sarah Chan and Dr Mandy Ng represented HKWDA to attend the opening ceremony of the International and Greater Bay Area Exchange Platform at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Family Integrated Service Centre in Lo Wu on 5 Dec, 2025. HKWDA is a partner in this platform and will have a long-term role in this innovative project.
10. On 13 Dec 2025, our team of volunteers participated in the Ripples Action @ Sheung Shui event, offering free Pap smears and psychiatric consultations to underprivileged women from Sheung Shui district.
