On February 24th, Dra Fatima Alves participated at UNIFESP-EPM as a member of the Master’s thesis committee for student Marina Cançado Passarelli Scott, with the study Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss of infectious etiology: clinical, epidemiological and prognostic profile. The committee was composed of the following members: Ektor Tsuneo Onishi, Fatima Regina Abreu Alves, Felipe Costa Neiva, Marcos Luiz Antunes; advisor Norma de Oliveira Penido.
On February 26th, Dra. Fátima Alves participated in the São Paulo Forum on Teaching and Quality of Medical Care at the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (ALESP). Participants included the President of the APM – Dr. Antonio José Gonçalves, the President of the AMB – Dr. Cesar Eduardo Fernandes, the scientific director of the AMB and representative of the AMB at the CFM – Dr. José Eduardo Lutauf Dolci, the Secretary of Health of SP – Dr. Eleuses Paiva, Professor Mário Scheffer – FMUSP (Medical Demography), Dr. Paulo Pego Fernandes – Vice-Director of FMUSP, Bruna Furlan – State Deputy and President of the Health Committee of ALESP, among other medical representatives and deputies. The discussion addressed demography, undergraduate studies, specializations, medical residency, and the distribution of physicians. Professor Scheffer addressed in detail the demographics of medicine, especially in São Paulo, the feminization of medicine, and the wage and hierarchical advancement gap for women.
On March 3rd, at ALESP (Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo), the “CANDLE CEREMONY” took place. This celebrated the energy of LOVE, LIGHT, and PEACE for WOMEN around the world and for the PEACE of HUMANITY, especially for peace in war-torn countries where the BPW (Business Partnership for Women) center is present, such as Bahrain. Presenters included Dr. Nelci Zanon Collange and Dr. Nise Yamaguchi.
On March 10th, a hybrid meeting of women took place with the participation of members of ABMM and the commission of women neurosurgeons.
