January was cervical awareness month. The CMWA sensitized the Cameroon female population on the need for early screening of sexually active women, and HPV vaccination of our young girls and boys 9-15 years old. This is particularly important because cervical cancer is preventable and is the second most frequent female cancer in Cameroon, after breast cancer.

In February, the CMWA changed its status from an association to an NGO. In this light, we trained 25 female medical doctors on project writing, with prospects to partner with international partners like fhi360, UNICEF, UNFPA, and other local partners.

In March, International Women’s Day was celebrated over a full week with CMWA sensitizing the population on how to prevent maternal deaths, STIs, hypertension, diabetes, and to promote breastfeeding and vaccination. The CMWA also offered free subscription to 20 excellent female medical graduates. We held webinars on proposed solutions to the problem of female resident doctors’ deaths. The association also visited some of these sites. CMWA is preparing for its upcoming National assembly in April, 2026.
