Our Association continued to organize compelling networking events, which, to our delight, saw active participation from young female physicians and medical students. Topics included medical policy and how to get involved, as well as a gender-focused online lecture and discussion led by Prof. S. Eifert from the Herzzentrum Leipzig entitled “How Women Live Longer”. Then there were tours with a more socio-medical focus of the fascinating infrastructure at Zurich-Kloten Airport and the new Children’s Hospital in Zurich (built in 2015 by the renowned Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron), which features an impressive modern hospital concept. We also offered so-called after-work gatherings, providing an opportunity for spontaneous and lively discussions.
Furthermore, in May 2026 we held our annual conference in Zurich on the topic “AI Applications in Medicine: Curse or Blessing?” featuring the following presentations: The dark side of smart answers (Resources, data, and conflicts in AI, R. Fulterer); How medical students and young doctors can learn and work with AI without turning off their own reasoning (C. Witt); Of the abyss of being human: A look at the doctor-patient relationship in the age of AI (Ch. Schlatter).
