The Thai Medical Women’s Association under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen (TMWA) continues to advance women’s health, physician well-being, leadership development, and social responsibility through the following activities:
• Women’s Health Services: TMWA provides comprehensive pelvic examinations during the first and third weeks of each month, supported by the Chinsophanpanich Foundation and a DKSH charity initiative. Free ThinPrep cervical cancer screening and ultrasound services are provided to promote early detection and improve access to preventive women’s healthcare.
• Medical Women Healthy Club (MWHC): TMWA promotes holistic physical and mental well-being through health behaviour challenges, health education, mindfulness drawing, walking for health, and relaxation activities.
• 22 April 2026 – Songkran Celebration: TMWA organized a traditional Songkran ceremony honoring senior women physicians, including Dr. Kanlaya Bamrungpol, Dr. Pornphan Boonyaratpan, and other distinguished members. The event strengthened intergenerational bonds, respect, and friendship among medical women.
• 21–23 May 2026 – Women Medical Students Scholarship Program: TMWA, led by Dr. Mayura Kusum, together with the TMWA Executive Committee, the Stone Family, a long-standing American philanthropic supporter, and Dr. George Curuby, continued the scholarship program established in 2004 for women medical students in financial need who aspire to serve rural communities. Over 24 years, the program has awarded 227 scholarships, including 27 recipients at Mahasarakham University—6 graduates and 21 currently studying. The program reflects TMWA’s commitment to supporting medical education, empowering future women physicians, and strengthening rural healthcare.
• 31 July–1 August 2026 – Leadership Program Class 7: TMWA organized an outing and closing ceremony in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya for the LP7 participants, together with TMWA committee members and facilitators. The program strengthened leadership skills, professional networking, and collaboration among women physicians.
• 14 August 2026 – Royal Ceremony: TMWA participated in a royal merit-making ceremony and wreath-laying in respectful homage to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Rajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita at the Royal Palace, Bangkok.
Through these initiatives, TMWA continues to strengthen its role in promoting women’s health, empowering women physicians, developing future leaders, and contributing to sustainable health and societal development in Thailand and beyond, in alignment with the mission of MWIA.
