Despite the stress of COVID 19 since early 2020, the local committee of the Taiwan Medical Women’s Association continued their efforts in preparing the 32nd MWIA (‘MWIA 2022’) Congress and made it the first ever hybrid triennial conference of MWIA (June 24-26, 2022). TMWA welcomed 363 local participants and 373 international attendees joining on site or virtually. MWIA 2022 started with a warm elegant welcome reception in the “Taipei Guest House”, in honor of the more than 100-year history of MWIA and its international nature. MWIA 2022 was honored to invite the current president of Taiwan, president Ing-Wen Tsai, the president of Taiwan Medical Association, Dr. Tai-Yuan Chium and the legislator Dr. Ching-Yi Lin to deliver opening remarks together with the local congress Chair of MWIA 2022, Prof Chyong-Huey Lai and the president of MWIA, Dr. Eleanor Ann Nwadinobi.

MWIA 2022 comprised 40 sessions (7 keynote and plenary sessions, 19 sessions of symposia, 10 sessions of oral presentations and 4 sessions of oral posters) and a total of 213 presentations. As well as the onsite participants, a total of 1093 viewers online participated. The local committee received very good feedback from the participants, including the scientific program and the social programs, as well as the organization of MWIA 2022.

Although only a quarterly time-period, the TMWA not only accomplished MWIA 2022, but also successfully conducted its second mentor-mentee program activity with a workshop on Oct 2, 2022. The TMWA has really made “Young women young doctors, our inspiration our future” the goal of the year.  The workshop comprised speeches covering career development working in a medical center or private clinic practice, successful development of medical-related clinical and basic research and free communication between mentors and mentees. The whole activity ended with a heritage tour at Dadaocheng, Taipei in the afternoon.
